From January to June, China’s cumulative crude steel output totaled 499.949 million tonnes, down 3.0% year on year. By province and municipality, Hebei led the pack with 107.2775 million tonnes, followed by Jiangsu at 61.9583 million tonnes, and Shandong in third place with 34.9769 million tonnes.

On July 21, 2026, Thailand’s Anti-Dumping and Countervailing Measures Subcommittee issued an announcement rendering a definitive affirmative anti-circumvention ruling on high‑carbon wire rod originating in China. The panel determined that the subject products had altered their chemical composition through alloying, thereby circumventing the existing anti-dumping measures. Accordingly, it decided to extend the scope of the duties to include alloyed high‑carbon wire rod with a carbon content of not less than 0.66% but less than 0.76%. Anti-dumping duties were imposed at the CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) level on the three Chinese producers concerned: Jiangsu Yonggang Group at 15.04%, Jiangsu Shagang Group at 20.56%, and Zhongtian Steel Group at 36.79%.

 

As of July 22, 73 listed auto‑parts companies have released their performance forecasts for the first half of 2026. Overall, results are mixed, with pronounced divergence, as intensifying industry competition and rising raw‑material prices have weighed on many firms. Several institutions note that, in the first half, the automotive sector has largely priced in pressures such as weakening demand and escalating costs. Meanwhile, parts manufacturers are leveraging their traditional manufacturing strengths to expand into new growth areas, including intelligent driving, liquid cooling for data centers, and humanoid robotics.

 

From January to June 2026, China’s total stainless steel imports amounted to 752,400 tonnes, down 75,100 tonnes year on year, a decline of 9.07%. Total exports reached 2.0558 million tonnes, a year-on-year decrease of 444,300 tonnes, or 17.77%. Net exports totaled 1.3034 million tonnes, down 369,200 tonnes from the same period last year, a drop of 22.07%.

In recent years, Wenzhou’s fastener enterprises have steadily enhanced their overall technological capabilities, driving a transformation and upgrade of the industry—from being characterized by small scale, fragmentation, outdated technology, primitive processes, and low profitability—to one that is advanced in smart manufacturing and increasingly integrated with cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things and industrial big data. According to incomplete statistics, the combined output value of the 320 member companies has surpassed RMB 31 billion, with foreign trade exports accounting for RMB 2.5 billion.
